John and Jenna in Orla and Goldie
An intimate Chicago wedding: John and Jenna exchanged vows in a rooftop loft, surrounded by their closest family and friends, with the city skyline as their backdrop.
A Riverside Proposal
John and Jenna met on a dating app, and it didn’t take long for them to click. “It was our mutual love for our families that started our love story,” Jenna says.
Chicago’s midday sun would often find them wandering the city streets, coffee in hand, tracing familiar paths through parks along the river. “These walks quickly became one of our favourite spots,” Jenna remembers, a quiet ritual that allowed them to know each other and grow together.
When John planned the proposal, he returned to this cherished spot. The day began with a screening of It’s a Wonderful Life at an old theatre, followed by drinks near the riverfront. Pausing to take in the view, John asked Jenna to marry him. “Once the ‘yes’ was secured, we enjoyed champagne at the restaurant and then went back home where our families were waiting,” she recalls as they celebrated the rest of the night.
A City Rooftop Wedding in the Heart of Chicago
Their wedding unfolded in the heart of the city they call home. Living in Chicago’s West Loop, Jenna and John chose to marry just steps from their apartment, welcoming friends and family into their area. “Being able to host our friends and family in our neighbourhood for our big day was very special to us,” Jenna says, noting how many guests had never experienced Chicago firsthand.
The couple exchanged vows at Morgan’s on Fulton, a rooftop loft in the city. “Once we saw it, we knew immediately it was where we wanted to get married,” she explains. They had envisioned a space that felt both modern and timeless, a venue beautiful on its own, and Morgan’s delivered with a rooftop terrace with skyline views and romantic tablescapes lit by string lights and candles.
The day’s most intimate moment was their first look. “It was such a fun moment to share between the two of us,” Jenna recalls. At the reception, they heeded advice from a friend: try not to leave each other’s side. “By staying together most of the night, we were able to have and share the same memories,” she says, a simple but intentional act that made the celebration deeply personal.
Jenna’s Bridal Looks
Jenna hadn’t been able to envision her dress clearly, but she knew it needed to be elegant, comfortable, and unmistakably bridal. The moment she tried on the Orla gown, everything fell into place. “The soft lace made me feel feminine and beautiful,” she remembers, drawn to the scalloped neckline, delicate lace edges, and dramatic train. “The high-neck, long-sleeved silhouette was perfect for our fall wedding, while the low back showed off just enough skin.”
Comfort was essential for the bride. “The material was very comfortable, and I loved that there were no zippers or buttons,” she says. And while Jenna loved Orla, she couldn’t ignore a close runner-up – the Goldie gown, which was perfect for dancing. “I still felt bridal and classy, but now I was ready to party,” she recalls, the satin fabric moving effortlessly with her as the night unfolded.
Their boutique experience had been the last stop of the day, almost by chance, yet it left the strongest impression. Jenna’s stylist listened, understood what mattered most, and made her feel truly beautiful. “She made me feel so comfortable and beautiful, and I knew immediately once I found the one.”
