Our Purpose

The why behind what we do and our ethical manufacturing processes.

Our Purpose

We are committed to designing and producing luxurious and ethical wedding gowns that women feel confident and comfortable in; whilst keeping them at an accessible price point.

We value skill, our Australian heritage and the art of dressmaking. We strive to create, maintain and empower an inclusive workforce. We are always looking at our business practices to identify meaningful ways we can adapt, adjust and grow. We are committed to continuous improvement to ensure that we look after our people, our brides and our planet.

Our Mission is to be the most iconic and respected leader in the modern bridal world.

We are driven by our passion to create equity for women in business and garment manufacturing. Over the last 11 years of business, our commitment to our mission and our purpose has remained steadfast.

The purpose of Grace Loves Lace was to revolutionise how gowns were designed and sold. I wanted to introduce brides to beautiful, luxurious, comfortable, accessibly priced, and ethically made gowns available through an innovative e-commerce platform.

In an industry flooded with tradition, we make wedding dresses...

  • Comfortable to wear, easy to fit
  • Quality fabrics & construction
  • Authentic design & brand
  • Accessible price points & buying experience
  • Experience service like no other

Manufacturing

Since our inception, we have been committed to creating jobs for women and providing training and upskilling of our workforce. As a result of incredible business growth, we expanded our production operations to neighbouring countries across Asia, finding partners with likeminded values and passion for excellent craftsmanship. Creating equity for women in business has been a constant goal for us and providing jobs for women in the dress-making industry is something that we are passionate about, and so are our production partners. Our offshore partners specialise in embroidery, lacework and textile production. Australia remains our core production hub with all design, quality control, customisation dress making and dispatch operating out of the Gold Coast.

Footprint

Over 80% of our gowns are Made to Order, which ensures we never have excess stock going to landfill. We keep low volumes of Ready to Wear stock on hand to ensure what we make, we actually use. We minimise our carbon emissions by designing and sampling in Australia and work with innovative eco fabrics. We have also ensured that all our packaging is FSC Certified. We have initiatives in place to significantly reduce and recycle our material offcuts including product lines. Through our partnership with recycling firm UPPAREL, we repurpose 100% of our fabric waste.

Supply Chain

We continuously review our supply chain from start to finish. With all of our design, development, quality control and dispatch undertaken in Australia, we are one of very few bridal brands who maintain extreme transparency on how your gown is being designed and made. We partner with factories in neighbouring countries and visit our production partners frequently to do thorough quality control checks. At Grace, we ensure that all fabric suppliers provide the necessary certification to ensure ethical and sustainable business practices are upheld.

Materials

Our materials are sourced from France, China, Turkey, Spain, Italy, America and Australia. As part of our commitment to innovation and sustainable practices, we've invented our own GRS certified eco lace and lining, crafted from 100% recycled materials. We have also transitioned to satin made from 95% recycled materials for all occasionwear. Our packaging is FSC certified, and we moved to compostable plastics in 2021. We strive to ensure excess trims, motifs and spare fabrics are incorporated into designs as we strive to eradicate fabric wastage.

Designs

Every Grace gown has been originally designed and created from scratch by our team, in our Australian design studio. The design and development process takes 18 months and we are exceptionally proud of the skills we have in-house with our team of designers, pattern makers, graders, cutters and sewers. Our focus for every gown is for it to not just be functional, but also exceptionally beautiful and luxurious without being over-done. We believe a woman should feel comfortable and be able to dance, eat and drink on her wedding day. We are passionate about design and innovation and love pushing our skills and training to the limits with each collection and gown we release. We believe that wearing an authentic design made with substance and passion is important for such a significant day.
