Bride and Groom from back

What is a Grace woman to you?

A Grace woman is fearlessly herself. She is warm and compassionate, but strong. She’s not afraid to be sexy and sweet at the same time. A Grace woman is the life of the party!

Which Grace dress did you wear and how did you know it was 'The One'?

I chose Martini and Goldie! I saw Martini on Instagram just a few weeks before I was hired as a stylist by Grace Loves Lace in 2020. She had just launched in their newest collection and I had a gut feeling that she was ‘the one.’ I wasn’t quite engaged yet, but I knew after putting Martini on nothing would compare! I wasn’t planning on wearing a second dress, but when Goldie came out in Grace’s newest collection I HAD to have her. She embodied the party vibe I wanted for my reception perfectly..

Did you buy your wedding dress online or visit one of our Boutiques?

My experience was quite unique since I was a stylist for Grace at their Denver Showroom. I wasn’t yet engaged when I tried Martini on for the 1st time but my gut feeling was right, I fell in love the moment she was on my body! Burke proposed a year later, and I flew my mom out to see me in the dress for the first time (I had never shown her photos of me in the dress to keep it a surprise).

What was your first date?

Burke and I met in our first year of college! We actually noticed each other at our freshman orientation. Coincidentally, we were invited to the same study group when school started and I finally asked for his number when we saw each other at a house party. We’ve been stuck on each other ever since. Girls - making the first move is always worth it!!!

It was a dinner date at home. Sam cooked me spaghetti bolognese whilst singing Robbie Williams to me!

Did you DIY anything?

Did you DIY anything?

My mom and I DIY’d everything we knew we could. My mom collected, cleaned, and hand painted every oyster shell name card. We printed and framed the seating chart as well as the bar and guestbook signs. My mom made a welcome bag for every guest at the wedding (she’s a rockstar)! My dad helped my mom break the stone tiles we used for table numbers. The work is worth it!

Where did you get married?
Tell us about the location & the style of your wedding.

We got married in St. Simons Island, Georgia. My Oma grew up in St. Simons and retired there with my Opa. Growing up I spent almost every summer on the island and it always felt like my 2nd home.

Since I was a little girl I knew I would get married there! I chose citrus colors with accents of black and white. I wanted a modern garden party vibe while staying true to my grandparents southern roots. 90% of our guests were flying in for the wedding, so we wanted to make the weekend an unforgettable experience.

We served authentic Georgia BBQ for dinner with peach cobbler for dessert! Burke bought every guest a pair of crazy sunglasses to enhance the party vibe we wanted for our reception. It was perfect!

The funniest moment on the day or something that surprised you?

YOU. GUYS. During the first look with my dad, my maid of honor and photographer noticed that his pants looked way too big and way too long. They had the sudden realization that Burke was complaining earlier about his pants feeling tighter than he remembered. Burke and my dad had accidentally switched pants! My dad and I started laughing uncontrollably and he kept joking that he has never felt closer to his son in law.
