An Instant Connection

Julian and Emily, who met as teenagers at a school party over a decade ago, have been together ever since. “We talked the whole night. There was just this instant connection,” Emily says. “From that point on, I knew he was ‘The One.’”

Years later, while on holiday in New York, Julian proposed in a quiet park in front of the Brooklyn Bridge. “He’d been carrying the ring the whole time, waiting for the perfect moment,” she recalls. That night, they celebrated over candlelight in a nearby Italian restaurant, still buzzing from the moment.

An Italian-Inspired Estate Wedding in Devon, United Kingdom

“It was like someone had stepped into our minds and built it for us.” That’s how Emily describes discovering Great Ambrook in Devon: a hidden, Italian-inspired estate surrounded by beautiful gardens, art deco interiors and an underground cellar where the couple held their late-night party.

The ceremony took place outdoors, with vows exchanged under a soft May sun. Afterwards, guests gathered in the art deco dining room for dinner before cocktails were served in the garden, and later, the real party kicked off in the candlelit cellar beneath the house. “We’re still on such a high from our wedding day.”

Saying ‘Yes’ to Goldie

When finding her gown, Emily turned to our London boutique. “Being petite, I really struggled to find something that didn’t swamp me,” she says. “I wanted something that felt like I was wearing the dress, rather than the dress was wearing me.” Goldie was the bride’s perfect match.

Emily fell in love with the gown’s statement train for the ceremony that could be bustled for dancing later in the night. “It was like wearing two dresses in one,” she says. “Charlotte at the London boutique was so lovely; she made me feel very special and was so patient while I took some time to think it all over and try on multiple options.”
